People Magazine and numerous outlets are reporting that iconic actress, Carrie Fisher, best known for playing Princess Leia Organa in the Star Wars franchise has died at the age of 60. Fisher suffered a heart a few days ago while flying from London to Los Angeles.
Fisher’s daughter Billie Lourd has released a statement through a family spokesperson: It is with a very deep sadness that Billie Lourd confirms that her beloved mother Carrie Fisher passed away at 8:55 this morning. She was loved by the world and she will be missed profoundly. Our entire family thanks you for your thoughts and prayers. Fisher is the daughter of Debbie Reynolds and Eddie Fisher and grew up in the bright lights of Hollywood. She starred in The Blues Brothers, The Man with One Red Shoe, Hannah and Her Sisters and, When Harry Met Sally. But it was George Lucas’ Star Wars franchise that made Fisher a star and household name. Carrie Fisher is survived by her mom Reynolds, daughter Lourd and beloved French bulldog, Gary.
